Flexible working and pandemic-related changes in the workplace

21 April 2021
Our founder Simeon Spencer features in the Law Society Gazette in an article by Katherine Freeland, which discusses how widespread remote working as a result of the pandemic has changed recruitment. It identifies that candidates wish to have more information on the values and culture of the firm, therefore these are areas that employers should spend time focusing on, as well as looking at challenges for junior lawyers and considering what the future holds for legal recruitment.

With his thoughts displayed as a standalone pull out quote, Simeon writes: “We do not have revenue targets, billable hours or set salaries – our lawyers can work as little or as much as they please. This structure is great for those who thrive on flexibility, like to dictate their own destiny and finances but benefit from the support of having an office with meeting rooms, as well as PR, HR, regulation and comms capacity.”

Additionally, the article notes that Spencer West grew from two partners in 2018 to 60 lawyers by the end of 2020.
