With the news of several big name companies announcing redundancies, many businesses are having to consider reducing their workforce in order to survive. 

An article in People Management magazine discusses what procedures businesses need to follow when considering redundancies, in order to ensure they remain within the law.

Employment Partner Fudia Smartt contributed to the discussion, stating: “Employers will need to bear in mind that the cost of failing to collectively consult regarding proposed redundancies can be steep,” before warning: “including up to 90 days’ full pay for each affected employee.”
