Valerie Cooper

I aim to give realistic and clear advice so that a client can make informed decisions at the earliest possible stage in his or her case, ensuring that unrealistic goals are not pursued and, hopefully, curtailing unnecessary and costly litigation.

Valerie is a family lawyer with over 30 years’ specialist experience. She was, for many years, head of the family department and managing partner of a well known and highly successful Surrey based family law practice.

No case is too big or too complex, including high net worth cases with international and offshore assets, and disputes as to the jurisdiction of the English Courts.

She has handled a number of challenging children cases in all relevant courts, as well as Schedule 1 of the Children Act claims. She is equally as experienced in dealing with disputes between cohabitees.

She offers decisive advice at all stages, always mindful of the realities of family finances. She will always explore alternative dispute resolution methods where relevant but will equally be prepared to take a case to court, if that is what is required to get the right result for the client.

She has a good rapport with her clients and is known for her high standard of client care.
