Partner - Business Law

Nick works with a variety of business clients, protecting their legal interests and providing strategic advice to suit their commercial goals and their business cultures.

Nick has been a qualified and practicing solicitor since 1990. Initially, he worked in private practice and specialised in employment law. (He was a partner and head of the employment law team at Michelmores LLP, for ten years.)

More recently, Nick has worked as an employed, in-house lawyer, undertaking general commercial work. (He was Head of Legal at the UK Met Office for seven years and General Counsel to the European Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasts for four years.)

“It was very reassuring to know that I could turn to Nick for expert legal advice whenever I needed it. He displayed great professionalism but was also very personable and easy to get along with. I greatly valued his contributions and recommend him strongly.” – Adrian Wander, Director of IT at ECMWF

“Nick has helped me and my businesses to deal with a variety of issues, including a refinancing, a shareholders’ agreement, a planning dispute, High Court litigation (from letter of claim to amicable settlement) and the management of relations with local authorities. Nick is friendly, reliable, thorough and pragmatic – just what I want from a lawyer.” - Winston K Reed, Chief Executive, Willand Biogas LLP

“Nick rapidly picked up our brief, provided his advice and even making that extra effort, by taking calls and making himself available at our convenience rather than at his own. We will continue to use Nick whenever our business needs rapid and discreet legal services and representation at a very reasonable rate. Having Nick on the team gives us all of the benefits of an in-house lawyer when we need it.” - Jon Chanter, Managing Partner, Psychiatry UK LLP
