Anita is an accomplished lawyer with two decades of experience in the areas of data privacy, cybersecurity, commercial transactions, technology and intellectual property. Her clients have included organizations in the retail, pharmaceutical, healthcare, financial services, tech, and artificial intelligence sectors, including those with complex payment, insurance, and data collection processes.
Anita’s deep data privacy and security experience includes assisting pharmaceutical companies and health systems with clinical trials, including responsibility for managing and implementing privacy frameworks, incident management systems and policies, and enterprise policies, all the while aligning organizations’ practices with domestic and international privacy regulations. She has also assisted companies with the data protection and HIPAA implications of providing health insurance to employees and working with vendors and insurance brokers that provide these services. Furthermore, she has worked with companies that collect PCI data during the course of providing services and has counseled clients on the regulations involved in such financial transactions. Her experience includes HIPAA, GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and GLBA as well as other international and domestic regulations.
Anita’s commercial experience includes drafting and negotiating SaaS, cloud services, master services, statements of work, non-disclosure, licensing, data processing addenda, and many other types of agreements. She is comfortable communicating with and managing the expectations of internal stakeholders as well as vendors regarding a company’s legal positions on all manner of contracting points.
