Ehsan Chughtai

"As a lawyer, I believe our real strength lies not merely in resolving disputes, but in preventing them."
Ehsan Chughtai Spencer West Partner

Ehsan Chughtai is a multi-jurisdictional lawyer (England & Wales; Republic of Ireland, Pakistan) with more than 20 years of experience in England and Wales, and more than 50,000 working hours of legal practice overall. He specialises in commercial law, commercial real estate, mergers & acquisitions and commercial arbitration.

Throughout his career, Ehsan has dealt with many complex transactional matters, including the sale and purchase of multi-million-pound estates ranging from palaces to hotels. He deals with a vast array of matters including, but not limited to, mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate, commercial refinancing, commercial leases, development sites (both commercial and residential) and commercial arbitrations.

He has advised on matters spanning high-value commercial property, complex corporate transactions, bridging finance, and commercial mortgage work, building a loyal following of high-net-worth individual and institutional clients over more than two decades of practice.

He also ran his own boutique commercial law practice EXONS from 2017 to 2023, which shapes how he works today: a hands-on, partner-led style of advice, with direct access to him throughout a matter rather than being passed between teams.

Ehsan is admitted as a Solicitor in England & Wales and the Republic of Ireland, and has also been an Advocate of the Lahore High Court, Pakistan, since 1999.
