Fabricio has over 30 years of experience managing a wide range of complex and high-profile legal matters, with a strong focus on corporate, transactional, and cross-border operations. His background includes leading and negotiating sophisticated business transactions –particularly in the telecom, industrial gases, and clean energy sectors — as well as advising on corporate governance, strategic investments, restructurings, and commercial contracting involving multinational counterparties.
He has extensive experience navigating global antitrust and competition laws; advising on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and international anti-corruption frameworks; and overseeing compliance risk assessments for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. His transactional work also includes directing pre-acquisition and post-integration compliance due diligence, managing operational and supply chain due diligence, evaluating third-party risks, and structuring agreements to mitigate exposure in high-risk markets.
In addition, Fabricio has led the development, review, and implementation of global compliance programs, policies, procedures, and training initiatives across the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
Prior to Joining Spencer West, Fabricio spent over 16 years with Linde plc (and Praxair, Inc. prior to the merger that created Linde plc) in several managerial legal roles including Head of Legal for Linde Global Clean Energy and Linde Advanced Materials, Inc., where he was responsible for supporting the negotiation of strategic alliances, joint ventures, and specialized contracts in the clean energy space. He was also responsible for all legal matters pertaining to Linde Advanced Material Technologies, Inc. He served as Global Chief Compliance Officer from 2014 to 2022 (Linde plc and Praxair, Inc.), where he led the global compliance organization and had accountability for all aspects of the Praxair and then Linde global compliance programs. He also served as Legal Director and Compliance Officer from 2008 to 2014, where he oversaw the legal and compliance matters of the operations of Praxair in South America.
Before his position in Linde and Praxair, Fabricio was an international associate in the corporate department at the Squire Patton Boggs law firm in Washington, D.C. Fabricio began his career as a law firm associate in Brazil and then was a legal manager at Global Village Telecom (GVT) – a Brazilian telecommunications company.
Fabricio earned his law degree from Pontifical Catholic University (Curitiba, Brazil) in 1995 and earned a Master of Laws degree from Cornell Law School (Ithaca, NY) in 2006. Fabricio is a member of the Brazilian Bar since 1995 and DC Bar (Special Legal Consultant) since 2007.
