Ishtiaq is qualified to practise in England and Wales, Pakistan and the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts (DIFC).
Ishtiaq was previously Managing Partner of Chatham Chambers LLP based in Reading, Berkshire.
Ishtiaq is experienced in a wide range of property law issues, including commercial and residential property, landlord and tenant and secured lending.
Ishtiaq has specialist expertise in relation to Islamic finance and laws, including advising clients purchasing property with Islamic mortgages and also advising clients on Islamic wills.
He also has wide-ranging expertise in commercial law as a legal practitioner and as a Visiting Lecturer at British universities. He also handles immigration cases on behalf of foreign nationals seeking to establish the right to remain in the UK.
He is currently undertaking part time studies for a PhD at the University of Reading in matters of the laws of Pakistan with a specialist focus on Pakistan finance and insolvency law.
Ishtiaq’s practice is increasingly focused on developing Spencer West’s services for businesses and persons based in Pakistan.
