Jonas McDavit has extensive experience representing clients in high-stakes patent infringement litigation. He handles disputes involving diverse areas of technology, including computer hardware and software, semiconductors, wireless communication, mobile devices, image sensors, gaming, pharmaceuticals, photo-imaging equipment, and consumer products. He has successfully represented both patent owners and accused infringers in litigation and licensing.
Jonas has substantial experience litigating cases in jurisdictions throughout the country, including before the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, the International Trade Commission, and before several United States District Courts such as the Eastern District of Texas, the Western District of Texas, the District of Delaware, the District of Massachusetts, the District of Nevada, the District for the District of Columbia, and the Northern District of California.
Prior to joining Spencer West, Jonas was a Partner at Desmarais LLP. Mr. McDavit also practiced in the Intellectual Property group of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. He is a former U.S. Navy submariner, who achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He is a graduate of Georgetown Law and the University of Notre Dame.

- Represented patentee against multiple defendants in multiple jurisdictions, including before multiple U.S. District Courts and before the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeals Board. The litigations involved semiconductor design and technology.
- Represented patentee against multiple defendants in a JPML Combined Litigation involving transferring digital files. The litigations included live hearings on claim construction and dispositive motion practice.
- Represented a major technology corporation and an accused infringer against a competitor in multiple patent infringement litigations that included significant dispositive motions, an inventorship trial, and an infringement trial.
- Represented accused infringer in patent defense litigations before a U.S. District Court and before the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeals Board. The patents at issue were also the subject of German and UK patent litigation as well as an International arbitration.
- Represented patentee in multiple patent infringement actions, including patent assertion before the International Trade Commission.
