Hilesh Chavda comments on Dividend Tax increase in Daily Express
Posted: 28 Mar 2022Our private client partner Hilesh Chavda discussed the Chancellor's Spring Statement with the Daily Express.
An increase in the Dividend Tax of 1.25% is due to come into force from 6 April, and the Express considered if this may be delayed by the Chancellor.
Hilesh commented: “I expect this increase to go ahead in the Chancellor's Spring Statement. The increase will affect people with larger shareholdings, those who are investing significant sums of money or business owners who pay themselves a dividend from their business.
“The vast majority of voters will not be affected, so politically I would be surprised if the move was delayed."
