Henry Clarke

Henry trained with Clifford Chance in London and Warsaw and was previously a Solicitor at Clyde & Co and Dentons in the Gulf. He became general counsel for an investment firm where he worked with Enterprise Investment Scheme companies, property development projects and renewable energy projects. He then completed his MBA with Distinction at an FT Global Top 50 Business School before returning to private practice, giving Henry his blend of business approach to legal services.

Construction and engineering legal advice and contract drafting is one of Henry’s specialisms including JCT, NEC, ICE and FIDIC as well as bespoke documentation. He has many years’ experience in the UK and the Gulf region dealing with such issues including contractual negotiation, risk management and live project advice. His projects have been in the retail, hotel, health, housing, industrial and the commercial office sectors. Projects have involved new build and refurbishment based on standard contracting, design and build and management contracting.

Henry has experience of dealing with a wide range of issues affecting owner-managed businesses, from acquisitions and disposals of shares, joint ventures, capital reorganisations, private equity, financing issues and commercial contracts.

He also provides company secretarial services to businesses as well as a non-executive director role. As a previous general counsel at with an investment firm, Henry has significant experience operating as a trusted legal adviser to boards and their commercial and operational teams.
