Spencer West’s Bermuda office provides services in private client and wealth planning matters, corporate commercial and commercial dispute resolution, and general commercial, civil and white collar litigation.

The office is a full-service law firm able to provide quality advice in almost any area of law where questions are likely to arise.

Our Bermuda office provides private client and wealth administration advice, including the establishment of local and international trust structures, drafting of wills and wider succession planning, and the administration and management of unit trusts, private trust companies, ordinary and purpose trusts.

Cameron Hill and Paul Wilson, Director and Practice Manager respectively, provide advice in relation to litigation, dispute resolution and company and personal financial restructuring; including the restructuring (Chapter 11) of publicly quoted companies and run-off and end of business advice to long-tail insurance entities, including the comminution of polices and schemes of arrangement.

The office has substantial corporate and commercial expertise, including handling regulatory aspects such as corporate governance and regulatory compliance advice, including FATCA and CRS.

In addition to the substantial commercial dispute resolution capability offered by our Bermuda office, both as counsel and advocate, the firm handles a wide variety of commercial dispute resolution matters, combined with specialist expertise in insolvency related proceedings. The types of matters handled include the Common Law recognition of foreign office holders, obtaining evidence from abroad in aid of Bermuda court and arbitration proceedings, applications to Court in support of arbitration clauses, and acting as counsel in arbitrations in London and Bermuda.

The office provides residential and commercial property advice in Bermuda, through a team of experienced part-time lawyers with immediate access to the London office and all of our lawyers around the world, should the need arise.

The firm is able to manage and assist with multi-jurisdictional matters and disputes involving Bermuda law and English law, working in conjunction with its various offices.
